About RSG

Kings View
The Workforce Development Office youth grant proposal was submitted in April 2000,
by the Madera Kings View Counseling Center. It was approved for funding in July of 2000, which led to
the beginning of the Kings View Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) Program. The goal of Kings View RSG! is to help
Madera youth be better prepared to enter the workforce through classroom skill building and paid work experience.
The RSG! Program is available to youth ages 16 to 21. The program has two divisions: In-School Youth (In-School)
and Out-of-School Youth (OSY).
In-School Youth (In-School)
The In-School Youth program is available for youth ages 16 to 18 who are currently enrolled in school. RSG! provides participants with instruction on employment related topics such as: job shadowing, life skills, employment readiness skills, career counseling, supportive services, and work experience. Participants also have the opportunity to utilize new skills learned in the classroom in actual work situations.
Out-of-School Youth (OSY)
The Out-of-School Youth program is available for youth ages 18 to 21. Program participants are instructed in a specialized curriculum, which is individualized to meet each persons specific needs. Youth attend workshops focusing on their work readiness skills and participants are provided with basic life skill classes, which are geared towards helping young adults become independent and self sufficient.
